Known as the king of silks, Muga is honey-toned in appearance and is produced by a semi-domesticated silkworm endemic to Assam that is fed on Som and Soalu tree leaves. Muga silk known for its glossy fine texture and durability is exclusive since it can only be found in Assam. While it has a naturally golden luster and does not need dyeing, it is compatible with most dyes.
